May 26, 2024 Bourne Cemetery Memorial Day Observance
The First Military District, Sons of Veterans Reserve will be participating in the annual Memorial Day observance on Sunday, May 26, at the Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA 02532. We will assemble just inside the front gate of the cemetery no later than 12 Noon. Parade steps off at 1 PM. The SVR is scheduled to lead the parade of Veterans organizations into the cemetery.
As a key part of the ceremony, SUVCW Department of Massachusetts Commander will read Logan's Order No. 11, inaugurating "Decoration Day, (now Memorial Day). The ceremony will conclude with a wreath salute at the cemetery's Veterans Memorial, followed by a rifle salute and playing of "Taps".More information coming soon!

Date TBD Grave Dedication - Rutland, MA at Goose Hill Cemetery
The request for a federal marker was initiated by the Department of New York. Bill Stumpf SVC of New York, the Rutland Historical Society, and Major Kevin Tucker of the 1st Military District SVR are finalizing plans for this dedication.
